What the USA needs to do is to repurpose all the closed hotels/motels in a state and turn them into shelters for the homeless, domesticate abuse shelters, and other such things. I'm sure the states could afford to keep the utilities on at a minimal price, use people such as the Red Cross, United Way, and the like as volunteers to run them and in the greater scheme of things help too many to count people in the long run! Think of the common good for once America! People with places to stay keep them off the street, safe, sheltered and give them a much better chance of getting employment and, thus, improving the quality of life for all!
