  I'd rather taste my food

I wouldn't think about it at a french restaurant , unless you want the chef to throw a meat cleaver in your direction . I guess it's horses for courses and sauces . If i were eating pub grub , no problems . Most cultural restaurants have their own condiments to complement the food and adding ketchup to japanese , turkish , moroccan and other national cuisines would ruin the taste , ruin the experience and ruin your credibility . Not a good move if your on a date . Then again if your date doesn't mind , you could have saved money on a fancy restaurant on gone to Maccas .
