There's a massive potential for this to go horribly wrong. With regulation of social media in this way could come the misuse of social media to benefit the government and hinder free speech which in some cases already happen. People from certain countries lose out on green card for criticizing the actions of governments and officials and certain countries' governments already have complete control over social media and can block whole threads criticizing the government as a whole and Mark posters as enemies of state and persecute them. China does this on a regular. Social Media sites should learn how to better police themselves. What Zuckerberg is suggesting is just another means of him and other founders not having to hold themselves accountable for the stuff that happens on their site and their failure to adopt and adapt policies to combat the worse of social media behavior around already existing laws.

This is America. Good grief. You don’t have to be a freaking genius to figure out that More regulation = Less Freedom. You want to live like that(personal property of the government) move to China or Saudi Arabia. Ben Franklin once said those who are so willing to so easily give away their freedoms, were never worthy of those freedoms to begin with. More silencing of free speech? Not in my country you don’t.
