Disney movies bad for kids? Me and my friends came up with a list on why we think so.. Kinda funny!

How do you expect kids to listen to their parents when Tarzan lives half naked, Cinderella comes home at midnight, Pinocchio lies all the time, Aladdin is the king of thieves, Batman drives at 200 mph, Sleeping Beauty is lazy, and Snow White lives with 7 guys. Shaggy an Scooby are potheads. Bambi's mom got shot by a white man. Scar killed mufasa. Robin Hood steals. And whats up with spider man leaving webs everywhere? Alice in wonderland is on acid. Pocahotos talks to trees. Men disrespect females in Mulan. Ariel doesnt listen to her father.. Little Mermaid has a dick on the front cover because a guy took revenge on being fired. Peterpan teaches little kids to jump out windows. & Dumbo is bullied. the list goes on! LOL.. have more to add?

You think to much into the movies, kids don't pay alot of attention to the details of a movies, they are injoy the plot of the movie. when my kid were little, if they had questions about a movie ,I would would explain to them. But I always told them it just a movie. Your thinking like adult not from a kids angle.

Never looked at them that way. I guess that makes cartoons bad also, because to promote violence?

I don't think Batman, Scooby and Spiderman are Disney but agree with the basic point on some of this. There is continually more hidden sexual imagery found put in by animators, rebellious behavior is mostly rewarded, running away is a common theme but it always works out okay and further enforcement that every little girl should want to be a princess. Robin Hood steals but gives to the poor so should kids rob the richest kid in school and give things to the poorest and he's a talking fox so go have fun with the next fox you see kids.

Any movie can have it's critics and they can find the wrong things in it. The Disney movies you mention are all fun entertainment that you and your friends as adults have over analized. Ex. Shaggy & Scooby were around before the public knew what potheads are so you are taking a today idea and pushing it on an old issue. If I said I was gay in my teens I would have been happy and had a positive sense in my body, today I'd be heard to saying I was homosexual. You and your friends along with many others need to get a reality check when you evaluate something. Use the standards that were around at the time of the creation which may mean going back to the mental frame of Old England when evaluating the original story of Robin Hood. Was Alice on Acid (which wasn't publicized when it was created) or was she a abused child that found an imaginative way to escape her situation for a time?

Disney movies are good clean movies & it is a shame parents make them seem like they aren't. Let kids be kids instead of making them adults when they are so young. Let the kids have fun & use their imagination!!!!!

I think that each of the movies that you had mentioned (along with so many others) are in cartoon form so that young children can understand and learn better from them. Each one of them tells a story (in cartoon format) in a way that kids might be able to understand easier. That is the way that I see it. That is my opinion.

Movies promote racism, sexism and other stuff. That's all I'm saying.
