Has anyone gone to a car dealership prize giveaway and walked away with more than the bottom prize?

Every time I get these post cards stating that I may have won a car, we take the trip and end up waisting the day to only get something you'll never use. It makes me wonder if its all a scam or if a car or cash is really given away?

Its a scam. Don't waste anymore of your time or money. They are just trying to sell you something. If you won the car, it would turn out to be a matchbox or hot wheels car. Don't be so gullible.

I've gotten many Mail offers with giveaway prizes you "MAY or MAYNOT" win. Most of these postcards come with keys attached to them. Apparently, if you carry the right key to the car you win the prize "FREE of CHARGE". It makes you wonder if you actually posses the winning key, or by that matter if ANYONE posesses the right key in their mailox. I normally throw these offers away along with the key. So if many Keys are being throwed out. Could in fact you raise others chances for winning this so called "PRIZE". I think its a scam and just lures consumers into buying a car they never thought they needed and in fact might not need it.

They are tricking you into coming to their dealership to buy a car. I get them also. you should throw those post cards away you get from any place that is trying to sell you something. There are sometimes advertisement" free prize" for first 100 person who come to their showroom. It is call "JUNK."

Always remember, "if it sounds too good to be true...". Nothing in life is free, there is always going to be a price, I don't care what it is. If (and that's a mighty big IF) you had won you would have to pay sales, title, state taxes and possibly had to report it on inocme tax return as a winning; are you ready to do that. Those things are gimmicks!

Nope! Waste of time I agree with Logical Mom. It sure is a scam to get people to come in to purchase a new or another car. Never won any kind of prize although they do sometimes have good snacking food and refreshments!

Cash/car is given away (it's the law) but probably it's a nationwide contest. Read the odds to see if it's worth the trip. As with any sweepstakes it's the odds that make it worthwhile. I've beaten 3 million to one to go to Hawaii for 10 days and 1 in 15000 to win a Vespa scooter. Do the math and drive your win around.

No, I have never won anything at a car dealership giveaway ever. I don't usually believe in their contests. It makes me wonder if its all a scam or if a car or cash is really given away?

Nope, not once in 40+ years and more promotions than I bothered to count. It's all a marketing ploy to draw you into the dealership where salesmen will press for you to buy a car. The plan is that you will be so dazzled by the new car smells and shiny, clean spiffy vehicles and REMARKABLE/AFFORDABLE deals that you won't be able to resist buying more than you need.
