what is your favorite holiday and why?

my favorite holiday is christmas, but not for the reason you may think. of course I love getting Christmas presents, but the real reason I love Christmas is because it is the only time of year when my entire family is together. I live in Boston and I have family in New York who I don't see very often. But at Christmastime we all get together and have a great time.

When I was a little kid, I use to always like Halloween. I loved dressing up and going to the houses that were decorated, especially when they had someone dressed up and hidden, where they would jump out and scare you.

I like Thanksgiving the most. I feel Christmas is very stressful because I need to spend money and buy gifts. It takes a lot of time and I always worry if the receivers will like and use the gifts I buy. It puts a lot of pressure on me. I enjoy Christmas because it allows me to see my family. BUT, I enjoy Thanksgiving the most because I get to spend time with my family just like at Christmas time, but I don't have the added pressure of buying gifts and spending money I don't have.

My TWO Favorite Holidays are HALLOWEEN and the 4th of JULY.
Actually ANY Holiday where people aren't pressured into going out and spending a FORTUNE buying Gifts for Everybody.
Well actually we solved that problem by just DRAWING NAMES, years ago.
As for my Favorite: 4th of JULY - I LOVE the Red, White and Blue - the Fireworks and being able to say: HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

Christmas....the only tim of the year that all of my family is able to get together. My mother's family gets together Christmas Eve at my uncle's house to eat dinner and open gifts(29 family members), then we leave and go to my parent where we get together wth my dad's kids to snack and open gifts (16 family members). Christmas morning is great because I have two little ones that get to see what Santa brought thm. the excitment on their faceis priceless. Then it's getting together wth my husband's family to eat and open gifts (9 family members). then the day after Christmas we get together with my husband's aunts, unces, and cousins to snack and have activities for the kids (26 family members).

My favorite holiday is the Fourth of July. This is where our country started and I love all the patriotic activities and parades, and especially the fireworks.

Family means everything to me. So my favorite holiday has to be Thanksgiving. That's the only holiday where all our families get together and spend quality time together.
