Of course it does; don't let anyone tell you it does not count. The fact that you are honoring the resurrection of Jesus is what matters, not naysayers opinions.

Don't know if it does count for Easter, but in my opinion ANY TIME that's spent for the Lord counts.

I never go to church so I only really celebrate the holiday for my two young kids so i guess yes would be my answer.

I think that it might depend on your faith and if the Vigil is a "full" service. I was raised in the Roman Catholic faith and I usually attended Midnight Mass, although I'm pretty sure that my church had an Easter Vigil at 7 p.m. which counted as it was a full Mass, not just a short service. I couldn't speak for other Christian faiths, however.

Absolutely! The rule in the Catholic Church is that any Mass celebrated after 3:00pm the day before counts. In fact, my Church recommended that people go to the Easter Vigil since Easter Sunday will be so crowded.

I think going to church on Easter is more about remembering the meaning of Easter rather than if you go on Saturday or Sunday. If you go in the spirit of remembering and celebrating Christ's resurrection than I don't think it matters if it is even springtime. It was a holiday created by the church for getting together and remembering what Jesus did for all of us. So, yes I think it counts.

If you are a traditional it's a must I am Roman Catholic and always to church on Saturday but went to church stating with Palm Sunday and starting with First day of Passover , Good Friday , Easter Sunday ending with the Last day Passover. So when it comes to mass yes and to everybody who doesn't belive trust me its a wounderful of year when it comes to mass like midnght mass and ass wenday. So to all the beliver and none beliver try going it doesn't hurt . So to everbody out there good bye , and good luck thank you very much and remember who looking at you from up there .

I think it counts. All that matters is that you go and observe the holiday and recognize it's importance. It is in you heart and not just your actions.

I believe that it definately counts. From my experience, it is much longer than a regular easter mass on Sunday.
