Brand names cost more but is the quality any better?

I have found not all brand name products are of better quality for the amount you pay. You can buy 10 cheaper products for the price of one.

depends on the brand name, and now often all brands are Made In China. So it would not matter what brand you bought.

I often buy generic products at the grocery store. Most of these are almost as good as the brand products & often can be half the price. I have found that it is better to buy brand name sneakers as they last a lot longer than their cheaper counterparts. If you want to purchase homewares, mens clothing & shoes, ladies & kids clothes & shoes from an Australian website, you can save up to 70% off. i recently purchased a deep fryer at Sams Warehouse. It was a cheap one but it works great. Brand name products are not necesarily better.

I agree, I would prefer to purchase a no name brand which is just as good and save on the money from a named brand. The extra cash saved can go to something else like pay off the credit card. best wishes

Most brands are made in the same place CHINA! No matter where you purchase the item, posh shop or not when you look at the label there it is "Made in China"

Ive found most generic brands are at least equal. What i do is stop and think about where it was made.. eg.. how many sugar mills do we have in this country? Fruit Canning factories , major bakeries , dairies etc. Most of these products (when packaged in Aust.) come out of the same factories as the brand names.

I fully agree with what has been said. I was rather surprised by the quality, taste and large portion size of the fruit when I bought a tin of Woolworths Home Brand Fruit Salad last week. It was absolutely delicious and has won me over. It is the only brand I will buy in the future and if you love fruit salad, please buy a tin, becasue I am sure you will love it too.

The biggest problem we have is that we are led to believe that brand names are better and no name brands inferior. It is very diffcult to judge what is best. In the case of food maybe taste, after reading the content lables
