Need gift ideas for 17 year old boy, under $30.00!

Not going to be easy, but hoping somebody can help with ideas, especially the younger crowd. :)

I think he would love to receive a store gift card to Target or Walmart or a similar store. They really do have everything there (video games, music, books, toys, clothes and food) and he can use the card and pick out something he really wants. Plus, I think both of these stores don't charge a fee for their cards and they don't expire (at least not in CA). There are some department store gift cards that charge a fee if you don't use the card right away and it really can use up the balance quickly.

I have two teenage grandsons. We always give them money on their birhdays and at Christmas. This way, they can buy what they want or need. It is hard to buy for them, for we don`t know what they have or want.

A video game would be a nice gift, espescially for a boy. Or a gift card, thats a good idea too.

Is he going away to post-secondary school soon? We bought our son a new tv for him for his 1st yr of university. We put something with it that he could use right away, clothes I beleive. Laptops and printers are good things to put away, or registered educations savings plans, you can add to that if there is one started.

I bought a remote control airplane that used 4 double a batteries from walmart and my grandson loves it but hes only 13. You might not be able to find anything under 30 for a 17 year old so just give him or her the loot you cant go wrong with that. These days childern that old know and understand what the economy has done to us and they understand.

You can never go wrong with a gift card. I usually get a Visa gift card because it can be used anywhere for anything! These is $3.00 activation fee tacked on to the amount that you buy but I think it's worth it for them to have the freedom to use it anywhere.

Try to buy a new game for his game console if he has one. Probably not a brand new one but maybe another good game that dropped in price that he doesn't have. If he has a car, maybe you can buy him something for his car like a vanity CD holder.

I get my gang gift cards for like used video games. There are a couple sites I have in mind. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say them here or not though...But there are sites out there you can get used video games in great shape for just a few bucks each.
