Dirtiest area of your home - did you get it?
Closed

A few weeks ago, I posted a poll regarding the dirtiest area in your home. The toilet and the sink drain got the most votes....but the actual dirtiest thing is your kitchen sponge! You can sterilize your sponge in the dishwasher or microwave, or soak it in a bleach solution for 5 minutes.

Why waste money on sponges. Its best to use a dishcloth anyway.

For that very reason, I don't use sponges to wash dishes or wipe down countertops. Well, actually I do if there's something on the counter or in a pot or pan that will permanently stain my dishcloth (such as tomato sauce or chocolate). Then, after I use the sponge, I'll rewash the dish or countertop with a dishcloth. I also put the sponge in the dishwasher whenever I run it and I replace it if any part of it starts looking black/moldy.

I don’t use a sponge often but when I do, I just toss it in the diswasher

The dirtiest area of my house would have to be the guest bathroom near the toilet area where guests go to the bathroom or the kitchen counter after I've cut and prepared raw poultry.
