A Pencil That Turns Into A Plant
Closed

A Danish pencil company called Sprout World has a very innovative and creative idea:

Instead of an eraser on the tip of each pencil, the top of Sprout’s pencils have a capsule of seeds. Once you have used up the pencil, you simply plant the remains upside down in a pot of soil, water it, give it light and eventually you get a few sprigs of basil, thyme, forget-me-nots, cherry tomato plants or one of several other varieties.

This has been around for awhile but it's the first I've heard of it.
I love little ideas like this, especially if used in the classroom.
Elementary grades have been planting and bringing home Mother's Day plants for quite a few years - all of my kids did and I know they still do this in the younger grades. This would be great for them.
I have a niece and friends that are teachers that I may share this cool idea with.
