Ferry for sale!
Closed

I heard today on Q104.3, a NYC radio station, that the retired Staten Island commuter ferry, the John F. Kennedy, is for sale. It is 60 years old, and apparently is not in working order. The opening auction price was $125,000, half the initial asking price, and the highest bid was $133,000 the last that I heard. It sounds like a bargain!

I can't afford it, but would be nice if whomever buys it can turn it into a floating hotel or something like that. That would be cool!

What would be cool is if someone could buy it and get it up on land and make a B&B out of it, or a tourist thing for people to check out.

Well I hope whoever buys this historic ferry enjoys it. Not for me though; don't have enough room in my driveway to put it,

Though the price isn't that bad, where in the world would you store it?!!

A LOT of work would be required to turn it into either a live-aboard or a pleasure yacht!
