That was some good news, for myself, and a cat.

I reported a stray cat I found near me to cats protection, she was very friendly, so at first I made a bit of a fuss of her. She kept going into a hedge then coming back out to mew at me, so I decided to check, she had a number of young kittens in the hedge. Cats protection have just let me know they managed to catch the cat and have her kittens, four of them, safe at their local shelter. She is not chipped, so they have no idea who she belonged to. Se is not feral, so she has either wandered off, and become lost, or been abandoned. At least she and her kittens are safe now, and Cats Protection will neuter them, then find homes for them. That bit of news has made my day, they did ask if I wanted another cat, but at the moment I think I have enough to handle.

Have you reported any stray pets you have found near you ?

Awww, think of the fun you could've been having! with an instant feline family! Clearing up endless tiny "presents", being awakened in the early hours by teeny paws and high pitched mewing, and retrieving the little ones when they get stuck halfway up your curtains and cry out plaintively for rescue - for the twentieth time that day, at 4:30am...!! I've not noticed any stray pets ~ but I have reported 2 stray cars (both 02 plates) that appear to have been parked/abandoned (both Taxed and MOT'd) but have not moved for over 3 months !
They are not near any houses; but parked on a stretch of road where dog-walkers park when they use the local woods !!

No thank goodness but we did a roadshow today, first opportunity for quite a while. Raised over £200 to support ex-racing greyhounds. The money will be very useful of course, all charities are feeling the pinch, but it’s also raising awareness about what wonderful companions these hounds make. The hounds on duty all behaved impeccably.
Good on you for giving the cat family a chance.

That’s so lovely. I hope they all find lovely homes.
When we had cats they were never chipped - we got them before chipping was commonplace. If we were to get another I would definitely have it chipped.
I hear so many stories on Facebook of missing pets getting reunited because of chips. The guy that invented them needs a good pat on the back :)
