Does anyone have any idea what this could be ?
Closed

It belongs to my friend , who inherited it amongst his grandfather's things . The middle disc rotates . The one on the left shows the time around the world , while the one on the right is a 100 year calendar , showing average monthly temperatures . The print is very small !
Any ideas folks ?

They look like a perpetual calendar on the right, and a world time converter on the left. I would have thought there would be a barometer, and a thermometer to make it a set of four. All things useful to a seafarer, especially if they undertook long voyages. Looking at the picture the item is upside down the eye of an anchor is always supposed to be uppermost.

Ship's doctor's perhaps - Cadaeus (?) and anchor. Suggest an email to The Royal Navy Maritime Museum in Portsmouth. Or Science Museum in London?

Do they come out of the wood? According to Google, they are paper weights (clock + calendar)
