Good morning all. I just saw an article on Facebook about a primary school in Yorkshire which has announced a rule that parents should not do the school run wearing a dressing gown (I assume that's a bathrobe in the UK?) because other parents are disgusted by it. I've never dropped my kids off at school wearing a dressing gown. Then again I don't have a car so that would be awkward on a bicycle. Even so, if I had a car I would still get dressed to take them to school even if I didn't leave the car at all. It's just something you do, dress properly when you leave your house. I sometimes go get my wheelie bin in my PJ's which is about 30 m from my house but that's as far as I go. I would NEVER go anywhere without putting some proper clothes on. I don't even go out in joggings, always jeans and shoes and a coat or hoodie. I think if parents can get kids ready for school in the morning they surely can put on some jeans or something themselves. At least wear a jogging suit. I think it's utterly lazy to drop your kids off in a bathrobe. I also wonder if they comb their hair and wash their faces before doing so. Sorry but I don't think that's acceptable and I think the school is right to ask parents to dress properly. Not only because it would be a decent thing to do but also for their own children. I'd be so embarrassed if my mum dropped me off in her bathrobe. There's no excuse. Not 'maybe s(he) worked late, maybe had a bad night, maybe maybe.. nothing! No excuse. What is your opinion on this?
