For some reason the act crossed my mind yesterday & because it's been ages since we saw it I thought it no longer existed.
I think the design has altered a little because I remember a bigger breast plate but even then I could never see the man inside.
About three meters tall it's impressive when it hurtles towards you.
The bloke who drives the cart acts as spotter so the bloke inside knows in which direction to turn.

I've never seen that before but robots of various sizes are becoming more common and tech improves. I'm assuming that it is an actual robot as it seems too big and cumbersome to have a person in it and I know the robotic tech is around. Reply

I made one out of Meccano, with wheels and a cassette player inside, about 3 ft high. Motor controls were umbilical. The tape played a pause-controlled sequence of friendly statements that I'd recorded on open-reel with a rubber sleeve over the capstan, so a higher speed recording which I then copied sans sleeve over to cassette, so it didn't sound like me... It frightened my nephew who then stood about 2 ft tall and made him cry. So that was the extent of my developments 1971-ish. Never mind :)). Reply

Yes, we have. He was in our local shopping centre a few years ago. The only trouble he seemed to have was getting in through the door of Wilkos. Very good fun though. Reply
