“I was sure by now
God, you would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day”

The lyrics to this song are certainly apropos for the Coronavirus pandemic “storm.” Why hasn’t our all-knowing, all powerful, ever present and all good God intervened to end it?

The Lord says, “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts. And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Though we cannot understand why He hasn't ended this virus, we can rest assured that God is with us during this and every storm we experience and we can praise Him for that. Our help surely does come from the Lord.

“How great is God—beyond our understanding!”(Job 36:26)

I like that song! This Isaiah verse is perfect for these days since so many people do wonder why God has not ended this virus. It is a reminder of how God works in his own ways for the good of the people. Reply

I believe God knows we can handle this pandemic; otherwise He would have already ended it. We have to make the right decisions in order to stay healthy; this involves vaccines, therapeutics, and natural immunity choices. Never heard this song before and really like it; thank you Peggy for sharing it with us. Reply

Thank you Peggy, Amen! I have no idea why God has not yet stepped in to save us from this pandemic--he does work in mysterious ways. Reply

Colossians 3:23 - Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.
Deuteronomy 28:8 - The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to.
Proverbs 6:10–12 - A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.
Proverbs 12:11 - He who works his land will have abundant food, but he who chases fantasies lacks judgment.
Proverbs 12:24 - Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labor.
Proverbs 13:4 - The sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.
Proverbs 21:31 - The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord.
Matthew 5:3–4 - God blesses those who realize their need for him; and who mourn will be comforted.
1 Timothy 5:8 - If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
Reliance upon God is not mentioned, but is strongly implied in addition to helping one's self.
I got these from Wikipedia, because I was thinking God helps those who help themselves... Meaning, Maybe God is waiting to get rid of the virus to see what we do with it first...???
