Vaccine & a vacation?

When the pandemic hit last year, some businesses closed their doors for good. This year with the covid vaccines rolling out around the world, the United States had an idea. With people wanting to travel, some travel destinations are offering a sweet deal that most people would not refuse – a vaccine and a vacation. Here are a few places that are offering this unique deal.

1. New York
New York State are putting vaccination sites at popular places around the city such as Times Square, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Central Park and the High Line. The vaccine they would receive is the one shot, Johnson & Johnson. Mayor Bill de Blasio said at a news conference, “We think this is a positive message to tourists — come here, it’s safe, it’s a great place to be, and we’re going to take care of you. We’re going to make sure you get vaccinated while you’re here with us.”

2. Alaska
Have you ever wanted to visit Alaska and enjoy the outdoors? Maybe see the Northern Lights? If you are interested, now is the time to visit as starting June 1st, people will be allowed to get the vaccine from any of the 4 airports that you fly into. The tourism was not doing great, so in February, the state stopped requiring people to take a negative test before visiting.

3. Chicago - Six Flags
During the first weekend in June, a Six Flags amusement park in Chicago is having vaccination teams on site, so you can have fun at the park and get vaccinated. They are also having a sweet deal for people who are already vaccinated. The park is giving 50,000 tickets to the state of Illinois.

What do you think about Vaccine Tourism?

Do you know anybody who would be interested in this?

I think it's pretty cool its a nice way to keep the people of that state safe, and also the tourist, it's genius if you ask me.

I got the shot , but some people can’t get it for health problems.

no way, not everyone wants the vaccine

Although I feel being vaccinated is a personal choice, I chose to be vaccinated because my mom who is a senior citizen and husband both have underlying health issues. We all contracted Covid back in the winter and it was the scariest thing to have to deal with especially having my mom hospitalized and put on oxygen. There is no incentive that could take the place of preserving my life.

No one should be forced to take a vaccine, nor should any vaccine be mandatory for anything.

I'll Take that Alaska Trip! Visiting the North Pole to see the Northern Lights is actually on my bucket list!

I understand what tourist sites are trying to do, but with the possible side effects to this shot I would hesitate to get it while ON vacation. I wonder how many would take Advil of this offer if they haven't gotten the vaccine prior.

it annoys me that i got my shot right away because it was the right thing to do, but i was not rewarded.

whether or not to get an shot so call vacinne (which it really isn't as of the yet,) is up to the individual. What I don't understand: Why, are they doing all of these incentives to get the shot. They have never done this in the past. It just makes me wonder.
