Do you like eggy bread ??

As I spent longer in bed than I would normally expect , I didn't get up until this afternoon. Still , I got a few hours sleep , which is a plus ;)
I felt quite peckish , and remembered I had 3 eggs to use by tomorrow . I haven't had this for months , and I really enjoyed it. ;) Do you like it ?

Eggy bread instantly transports me to two time-places in my life, both entirely unforgettable... The first, at my first Brownie Guide Camp - the first ever time I'd slept outdoors, and away from home+family, in my life. I was very frightened all the first night I couldn't stop shaking... got up + dressed at sunrise, to the beautiful, cool, crisp, dewy, misty morning, and as first one up, got to help the grown-ups, Brown Owl & co, make breakfast - starting with eggy bread, which I'd never had before. It was hot, delicious, and so comforting :)
The second was the first morning after with my last partner, after our first night together at my house. We got up to make breakfast, while he showered I made eggy bread with crispy streaky smoked bacon and grilled mushrooms and cherry toms .... He came downstairs to see what I was cooking... But, oh dear: he didn't "do" smoked bacon. He hated mushrooms. Why was I cooking tomatoes, urgh, vegetables?!?.... What about the Eggy Bread? He'd never tried it. I said, some people call it Gypsy Toast, as I sat on his knee.... Yeah, you guessed it. "I don't like it..."
I should've taken these as red flags, and kicked him out there n then. Would have saved myself a whole lot of heartache.... Reply
