Barcelona named the second most innovative city in the world
Closed

For the Catalan city, home to the famous Gaudí Architecture, it has been a successful year. While the world is fighting strong financial uncertainty, innovation comes as salvation for any business or city. A new research has shown that Spain’s gorgeous city Barcelona is the second most innovative place in the world.

The study by Ambr Eyewear analyzed over 50 cities around the globe in terms of employment, well-being, connectivity, creativity and education. Home to the Sagrada Familia cathedral and the gorgeous Artigas Gardens, Barcelona won the second place, trumped only by Paris, France.

Studies ranked Barcelona one of the ten most cultural cities in the world this month thanks to its unique architecture, which includes the enormous Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, the Gothic architecture at Monestir de Pedralbes and the amazing Catedral Basílica Metropolitana de Barcelona.

In terms of arts venues, the winner was Paris with 3.59 theaters per square mile; however, Barcelona was not far behind, securing the second place on the list with 1.17 theaters per square mile.

Barcelona shares the top ten must cultural places with Buenos Aires City, Milan, Amsterdam, Tel Aviv, Lisbon, Prague and Dublin.

Also, according to Time Out’s annual survey, the city’s Esquerra de l'Eixample neighborhood is considered the coolest in the world and was described as having “incredible community spirit” in 2020, thanks to parties on neighboring balconies during the pandemic.

Do you like Barcelona?

I have never been to Barcelona. Seems like a very cultural and creative place. I would have liked to visit before but now I'm not thinking I will ever have that chance.

I would love to visit Barcelona but I probably won't because it's so far away and I hate long airplane flights.
