Dolphins
Closed

Have you ever seen a dolphin that's not in captivity? We've had one in Weymouth Bay this year and some people have been able to swim with him and give him a cuddle he was named Danny. He's now dead and gone to London for a post mortem it appears he got too close to a vessel and met a sad and untimely end.

We get them quite often in Looe, they come in very close to the beach and follow the glass bottom boat which always has food on board for them and the local colony of seals.

I've seen them swimming in the distance when I've been on the South coast and on the banks of the Clyde.

When I used to race yachts in Torbay we were frequently followed by one after the race had finished and we were going slowly back to the marina.

Yes, I saw a large pod of them when we travelled from Miami to Key West, we had a great view as we drove across the seven mile bridge.

Oh that's a shame Cuss. Poor old Danny :-(
I've never seen a dolphin in the flesh I fear. I would like to do so, but I've never had the opportunity.
