Have you ever had a ‘car crash’ interview?

Last night’s episode of The Apprentice: Best Bits focussed on my favourite episode from each series - the penultimate hurdle which is the interview stage!!!

I spent the whole episode cringing at just how bad some of the candidates came across - lying, long silences, exaggerations, belligerence... I realise it is edited to make it look bad but still... LOL!

I haven’t had that many interviews in my life but they have all gone well... Phew!

Have you ever had a ‘car crash’ interview?

No. Luckily I have been prepared and followed advice regarding looking smart, wearing clean shoes etc and making good eye contact and having a firm hand shake etc. I have only had a few job interviews and have been successful in getting offered the job.
I agree with you that the job interview stage is both the most cringe worthy and the most amusing week in the whole of the Apprentice process as Lord Sugar's trusted interviewers really pull the business plans to pieces and are very talented at noticing any discrepancies or blatant lies. .

Yes, I was suited and booted and my interviewer was in baseball cap, jeans and sneakers! I tried but knew when I walked away that I wouldn’t hear from them and I didn’t! Much to my relief! Reply

I've only had two during my working life Mark and passed them both so no car crashes here. :-) Reply

I walked away from an interview as the person who met me was just pretending to be Frank Lloyd Wright and his questions were not appropriate to the position that I applied for, funny enough that I met someone who knows him and told me that for his entire architecture career was actually doing shop drawings for an oil company. not really car crashes but just weird people..who I thought I wouldn't want to work for..with their horrid mannerisms and not so friendly vibes off them. you would think they would be nicer to candidates. Reply

Most of my interviews have been fairly good, not often successful but good. Reply
