How do you catch up when you are absent from work/school for more than a week

Sometimes we have to be absent or away from work or school for some reasons. In that case, we have to catch up for things we have missed.

When I missed school for many days, I used to ask notes from my classmates and diligently copy them. I also talked to my teachers for lessons I missed. For missed quizzes , sometimes I didn't need to take them because they would just record what i had as per DepEd policy before.

Now policy was changed so absent students have to do all missed activities. They have to spend longer time at school if needed.
My son was away from school for five days to compete so he has to catch up with all activities he missed. As a parent, I will ask some of the parents to borrow their kids' notes and photocopy them.

I used to catch up by asking for my friend's notes in class. Admittedly, it's much harder to get back in the flow after being absent for more than a few days.
This is why I tend to avoid missing class hours despite feeling slightly ill. A lot of my classmates back then actually force themselves to go to school even when they have a fever. Such is their dedication to maintain their grades.

During my schooldays catching up with the lessons have not been easy and I needed to go over the notes of my classmates. And everyday was quiz day so I had to prepare a lot of kodigo just to pass the quizzes..hahaha.. :D

From school, I'd borrow my classmate's notes and asked them what else did I missed. From my previous work, we have a logbook which we used in endorsing the happenings and important notes.
