In closed mouths, no flies shall enter

Does it get on your nerves when you’re sleeping and suddenly you hear an annoying buzz sound close to your ears? Do you feel frustrated when you can’t have a BBQ without having to swat away annoying flies constantly? If they die off during the winter, how come there are so many during summertime?

Small historic anecdote: Hitler did not like flies either, during a strategic Nazi meeting in July 1944, a fly fluttered through the room. Hitler ordered Fritz Darges, an SS officer, to get rid of it, and he replied that, since it was an air-related matter, Nicolaus von Below, the deputy to the Luftwaffe (air force), should be in charge. He did not like the joke and fired the officer.

The main reason that explains proliferation of these little insects is the combination of heat (that makes food rotten faster and microorganisms easier to degrade) and the speed in which flies reproduce: mating male and female flies can reproduce together up to 100,000 flies in one single summer!

In order to keep the flies away this summer, here are some Toluna tips:

- Keep your kitchen extremely clean. Even if it is exquisite, the tiniest piece of food can serve as a food source to these despicable little pains.
- You can buy aromatic plants like lavender. These plants emit an odor that is a natural pesticide to flies.
- Worst case scenario: arm yourself with a fly swatter or a bug spray: success is 100% guaranteed.

As you can see, the Toluna Team is quite angry against flies and mosquitos? And you? Have you already been bitten this summer?
