Have you ever heard of freezing Peaches in newspaper?
Closed

I bought the best Peaches at a roadside stand yesterday. I found a recipe to freeze in newspaper. Wash, Dry, Wrap in double layer of newspaper. Freeze individually over night. Place in air tight bag and freeze. I gotta try this!

I have heard of washing them with the skins on. Put them on a tray in the freezer whole. Once frozen. Store in freezer bags. Never heard of newspaper.

I've never heard of that. I always boil mine for a minute or less in boiling water which causes the skins to slip right off. I dump them in icy cold water to keep them from cooking, slice them, sprinkle fruit fresh and freeze them.

I'll have to try that, it would be a lot less trouble than cutting them up. After I cut them up and freeze them they are not good for anything but smoothies.

I love to freeze peaches, but I usually cut them up first. What is the point of freezing them in newspaper first supposed to be? Looks like extra work. I think I will try one to see how this works out, I am always open to a new way of doing things.

I've heard of freezing them in waxed paper but not newspaper. I would think that the ink would rub off, since if it gets cold or wet it rubs off. Just my thought though.
