Do you think you can live in the UAE with a 1,500AED budget?

Recently I read this article on the news with someone that tried to live with 1,500 as a budget and these were his top tips to save money.

1. Reassess your possessions (don't over buy)
2. Small changes add up
3. Meal plan (no impulse buying)
4. Shopping online (find the best offers)
5. The tough calls (deciding if you have to spend money how to do it in the best way)
6. The freebies (spending time at free locations)

The person in the article concluded that he still ended up spending 2,700DHS and I myself don't think AED1,500 is a good budget for UAE. What do you think?
