The Notebook is one of the best love stories of our generation. The chemistry of the actors on screen really shows. The story itself is very close to the book in the narration and how the story flows. It shows how true love never leaves you and that no matter what age you are you can experience real love.
The way the story is told through the protagonists in the future is unique and a testament to their love. How Noah never gives up on Allie, even when she doesn't remember who he is heartwarming and a love we would all hope to experience one day. The fact that they met at such a young age and never quite let eachother go in their hearts makes this story traverse generations because anyone of any age can relate to the story.
On top of the beautiful love story you have other themes like dealing with loss, grief, loneliness, war, and heartbreak. Not only does Noah lose Allie but he goes to war, loses his best friend and soon after returning from war, his father too. Noah's life is full of loss and grief and even though he no longer has anyone to keep repairing that house for he continues to do it for his own sanity. To keep himself busy and feel like he's done something with his life. I think anyone can relate to having to feel productive when they've experienced loss.
This story has many different themes and plot points outside of the main love story. To call it "any other chick flick" is an insult to the author of the original story and to the film makers. Ryan Gosling and Amy Adam's do a terrific job of representing two of Nicholas Sparks beloved characters. The movie itself is beautiful and the narration and composition does exactly as much as it needs to to help the story along. The Notebook is a fantastic novel and the film adaptation does not disappoint. If you're ever in need of an emotionally invested story and perhaps a good cry, the Notebook is a fantastic choice

I'm do not read a book more and more but do i like more watching movies much but "The Notebook" oh! it just convert me. My friend advice me the book and a DVD with it my birthday. i had nothing to do one day so i decided to first read some reviews about the book before reading and watching it, i must say i have never seen so many good reviews about something. well i started reading the book and i was really pissed of when when the parents don't agree but not everything lasts forever right so did their relationship. till i reached the end of the story my thoughts about true love and relationships had changed. It's not necessary the person you meet for the first time to be your lover for a life time so i would say don't give up on love and keep loving. and The actors do ham it up too much, a lot of dark scenes that makes it hard to see, and too many wet scenes but that's just my opinion. This has to be his best screenplay. Picking a good Nicolas Sparks script is like find hay in a needle stack. 6/10. If you like overly sappy melodramas, I recommend this film.
The Notebook is a best movie

The notebook is the typical chick flick and movie full of fantasy and romance that women strive to achieve in real life. Overall I appreciated the movie til the ending and the actors did an amazing job portraying all the feelings that came over them. Love, sadness, despair, yearning is the heart, etc, we’re all portrayed so well that you felt them in your chest while watching the movie. Most men would roll their eyes a few times while watching this movie but my husband was the opposite. He actually is the one that saw it before me and convinced me to watch the movie in the first place. It’s a perfect first date movie option or a married for a few years movie option. Lastly, this movie may restore ones faith that love is truly real. It may not always be easy and it may be lost and then found again, but it’s real and can help many not give up on their chance to fall in love. Overall an amazing movie that I would watch over and over again.
