Home alone is hilarious. This boy is so clever and talented. Very creative and mature minded. Knows how to take care of himself for sure. It has always been a classical favorite in my home. A young boy was accidentally left home by his parents as they went on vacation and he had a wonderful time until home invaders tried to break in. Then the fun began. Instead of being scared and running, he became a hero. A high five 2 thumbs ups.

Home Alone is a great family comedy movie for the holiday season about a boy accidentally left home through the holiday season to deal with two very unexpecting robbers.

"Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal... "
Home Alone is probably one of the most memorable (and quoteable) Christmas movies of my childhood. Kevin McCallister's (McCauley Caulkin) joy that his large and boisterous family accidentally left him behind as they took a family trip to Paris is understandable to me as the youngest (although I think I still would have preferred to go to Paris). He would get to do all the things he couldn't do when his family was around, like actually get a slice of the pizza he wants, eat all the junk food he wants, watch all the gangster films he wants, and mess around with his older brothers room. Kevin's fight with his older the night before the trip is the cause for him being left behind as he was sent to the attic as punishment (older siblings always win in the end don't they?), and in a classic case of "honey we forgot the kid", in the chaos of having visiting relatives Kevin gets left behind. Although we only see Kevin interact with his family briefly, it's obvious Kevin feels the outsider in his own family. His parents ignore him and his siblings bother him, which is why he wished they would all disappear. I guess wishes do come true. This movie taught a lot of lessons like looks aren't always what they seem, in the case of the seemingly evil neighbor who just turned out to be a nice elderly man saddened by his estrangement from his child and grandchild (whom Kevin sort of helps reconnect). We see this too through Kevin's mom's panic that they left him behind and her frantic hustle to get back home to him as soon as possible after Kevin assumed she didn't care. To lacking robbers Merv and Harry, Kevin probably looked like a weak kid, but he was more than capable of defending his house against them. Kevin's hilarious cat-and-mouse with lacking would-be robbers make this movie the quintessential family viewing.
