Opinion of the Week; If the average human lifespan was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
Closed

How does it work? The Toluna Team and Toluna Team CA accounts will each post a topic on their profile every Tuesday, starting with “Opinion of the Week…” Write a quality opinion on that topic and we will choose 1 random winner for each the US and Canada’s topics, to win 3,000 points.

Ground Rules: Open to US and CA members only. Every Tuesday the TolunaTeam and TolunaTeamCA will each create a topic on their profiles regarding a specific theme, and ask members to provide their opinion. One winner will be selected from each the US and Canada to win 3,000 points. Winners will be chosen at random from all eligible posts. Eligible posts must be in compliance with the Toluna Member Code of Conduct. Opinion of the Week winners will be announced within 1 week from launch of Topic, and bonus points credited to member accounts via direct credit.

I probably wouldn't waste half of my life in school and spend all the time I have going and doing whatever popped in my head with the people I love most. I would spend my life on a never ending adventure instead of worrying about bills and a job that makes me unhappy. I would also promote others to do the same.

I would hope that I'd grow up with parents who didn't care about a big house or nice cars, but invested the best of their time in me so I could learn all I could before their 40 years were up. I would want to get to truly know my grandparents, too. From this base I would appreciate how precious each life is; each breath, word and action. Work does not define who I am. It is the sum of my experiences, love, joy and sorrows. I want to be remembered in the hearts of those who know me, for the world to be a little better because I walked this earth no matter how short my time upon it. I dream of the day I shall stand before God and hear Him say "Well done, good and faithful servant." Then I shall know that I was born for a purpose and I was loved. What could be more important than that?

I would spend less time fighting/arguing about, worrying about the minor, little things in life and live more in the minute instead of planning everything in advance that I do...be more "spur of the moment" so to speak.

I would probably spend more time giving back to the community and doing charity work. If my life were that short, I would want to be as moral as possible. I want to be a moral person anyway, but if my life were even shorter than it is right now, I would do even more. I would also spend much more time with my family and friends, as well as let everyone around me know how much they mean to me. I would want to make as much positive change in the lives of everyone around me as I could.

If my whole life span had the duration of only 40 years, I would focus as much as I could to volunteering at my local church or food bank and cancel most of my TV viewing and focus on the spiritual aspects of life. I would also not spend anytime at my local mall, but would shop only when necessary and would share my faith more often with friends and acquaintances. I would delete all junk food from my diet and therefore set a better example to my children by consuming an improved diet of mostly whole, organic foods.

I wouldn't have made so many decisions based on fear. Took more chances.

I would have tried to make less mistakes in my life and not wasted my time with those people who did not have my best interest in mind.
