Do you think our politicians will ever do the job they were sent to Washington to do and be trustworthy ever again ?

I am sorry but I think greed and power has so poluted Washington that we could scream at the top of our lungs and it would be to no avail. This Health Care package has got to go. You figure it out, if the Capitol Hill Gang has exempted themselves from it what good is it and who do they think they are. What is good enough for the American people should be good enough for them. Someone recently wrote " If the Capitol Hill Gang didn't get another raise or get paid until the US was living within it's budget and paying its' bills without starving the masses or making more homeless it would be done within a week."

Of course they wont, because they cant! The government is overrun by red tape and politics, it doesn't have time to do what it was meant to do. We moan and complain and we want the government to take over our kids, our health habits, and a million other things that the government should not be involved in. To many organizations under the "wing" of the name "government official" has America rolling in chaos, and chaos is not the ideal situation for getting things done!

We have made our bed and now we have to lie in it. As long as people are blind to the realities, they will continue to reinforce impossible promises. There is no free lunch. The money has to come from somewhere. We have been acting like ostriches with our heads in the ground, ignoring the impending disaster. The U.S. is heading down the same path as Europe. We keep electing politicians based on promises of free rides in various forms of entitlements. This is unsustainable, since it fosters laziness, mediocrity, jealousy, and resentment. The next election is perhaps our last chance to turn things around, but I sense that it might already be too late. The reversal of fortune is already ingrained in our culture.

Absolutly not!! They are never going to do the job they were sent to do. They only promise to do something to get elected and then forget or neglect ALL their promises. I understand sometimes their hands are tied by the politicl bullcrap but they are teaching everyone they can never trust politicians or the government period!!

I agree. Today's polititians are in it for the money, benefits, and perks. They are influnced by lobyists to make decisions for them and not the people who elected them. There are some who work for their constituents, but for the most part the majority love the power that the position generates.

NO! No one holds them accountable to do so. Judge them by the Constitution and its Ammendments--do any of them pass that test? The only way it could happen would be if the country was in such a desperate situation that the whole populace actually cared who was elected enough to truly investigate them all AND the job held no perks beyond public service as a good for its own sake: here's to getting back to having a Congress with members who have full-time jobs in the "real" world and thus see governing as the limited role it is supposed to have!

No, because they see just their own interest and greed leads them.

Short answer, No. Long answer -- things can only change when people realize they have the power to think, and vote, and change things, if they will avoid being "bought" by special interest group ads. The public is its own special interest group, and shouldn't be led by people who don't have their interest in mind.

Never, greed will absolutely be around for ages and ages. It's as if you don't have greed, you don't have anything. I think the greed with politicians would decrease if they set term limits on every politician in the white house. I mean even the president has term limits and white house politicians are no different. They get sucked in the greed process the longer they remain in congress.

Absolutely not. They spend most of their time stopping each side, Republican and Democrat, from passing anything that would help us. There is no compromise in Washington (or in State Legislation) to get anything done and it shows in our economy and our education system, not to mention our infrastructure.
