I've noticed you've got 4 'not useful's' for this!! I would hazard a guess that it's someone's idea of a joke. They've realised that marking something as 'not useful' is winding you up so they're now doing it even more. I wouldn't let it bother you, it doesn't mean anything anyway. Just try to laugh it off, or ignore it, so you're not adding any more fuel to their fire.

I am inclined to agree with ghostdog1. I think many will hit that 'Opinion not useful' button as they have been rattled a little and are not happy as a result. I only ever use that option if someone has been particularly obtuse or offensive with their answer. I understand and appreciate that some will feel really very passionately about a subject, but it is SO obvious when someoe is being a Horse's arse! Once you switch off the computer, these people are......gone!..... :)

There you go, a click on the 'useful' for all of you. Every little helps. Often I do like to get a few 'not usefuls', it emphasises the fact that I have struck a nerve, proven my case, or managed to shoot down in flames the odd numpty or two. The majority of the time though, I feel that I am in the cyber-presence of free thinking individuals when a few 'usefuls' appear beneath my opinion, even if it does differ from the majority consensus at the time. Oh, I bet you look a pretty picture when your hackles are up Dawn?

Do you honestly think they will own up? the whole reason I think people use not useful is that it is private and they can be a little naughty without having to answer to anyone. Wasn't me though as haven't even got around to responding to that topic yet. I will shout you a bottle of wine dawn if anyone honestly owns up with a reason for doing it. Just seems to be a heap of people marking things not useful at the moment and to be honest I have stopped even looking at what I am being rated as until my points dramatically take a drop I am going to just not get bothered with it.

i don't fully understand everything on here yet!,but i'm shocked atthe immaturity of some people.I feel better though, cos if i put something forward and get a dodgy response i'll know it's some anonymous twat acting the fool!.

Sadly, this is yet another topic which will feed the 'not useful' clickers' habit, they must be loving all the attention they're getting lately. Best thing is to accept they're out there pointlessly clicking away and almost everyone on the site gets their share of 'not usefuls' when it seems entirely unjustified. Also, every time someone starts another moaning opinion on the nus it seems most of the regulars then almost feel obliged to answer in an effort to smooth things over ... yet again. If we're worrying about getting them now when it doesn't really matter, what will we all be like when it does matter and points are deducted for each nu we get?

if someone was stupid enough to mark something as not useful that was useful do you really think they are going to read this topic you have posted and give a toss. why do people keep getting worked up over something that seems to me like nothing.

We seem to have an invasion of 'not useful' bandits; best thing to do is just ignore them. Stop posting up complaints about them because they probably get off on it in some sick way. You'll get points for your opinions anyway, 'not useful' votes have little or no affect on points. This is not the first day that we have had an attack, and it won’t be the last, we just have to ride it out and ignore it, they’ll get bored soon enough, trolls have a short attention span.

I too noticed there must have been a problem dawn do not let it worry you practically every opinion I write out and even though I have obviously finnished or when I create my own somebody alway has to vote not useful and as I have said before I am sure it is nearly always the same people and the people at the Toluna site are going to know who is doing this all the time. I am sure they will ignore the not useful votes as these people have nothing better to do with their time and I have noticed you already have two no useful votes on telling us you had a problem, some people are so ignorant they do not understand the reason we are able to vote not useful.
