hi all, i have a two weeks to go on my internet secuity kespesky and need a new one, what are you running, are you happy with it, before kespersky i used norton 360 found it slowed down my laptop, [windows vista, two year old sony vaio] thanks x x x
I don't have a Windows computer at home. my laptop runs Linux (Ubuntu) and I am finding sometimes I click on the email links to participate on surveys and the pages don't load. However when I follow the same link at work in my Windows work computer it all seems to work fine.
IS there a known incompatibility? Should Toluna change this? I know we are in a minority, but our opinions should also count...
I have recently converted at home from a PC VAIO computer to an Apple Mac. I find it a shame that at schools they only teach students in IT how to operate PC computers as they are more widely distributed. Macs however are such genius machines that are less prone to viruses, great for media usage such as photo editing, film editing and music production. I wish there were more available courses to teach people about Macs and how to use them. Although they are admittedly more expensive than PCs I really do believe this was one of my most valued investments. It is worth the extra few hundred pounds. The laptops are more expensive than the desktops but both are equally fantastically equipped even coming with inbuilt webcams too and their own iChat messaging system to call and message other Mac users for free. If you are currently debating this topic I really strongly advise getting an Apple Mac. I honestly think you will not regret it afterwards, considering all the maintenance i had to pay to maintain my PC it added up being about the same price anyway! I would really recommend them to anyone currently looking to buy a new computer!
In our household we have Macs and PCs (Desktops and laptops). Over the years the PC has to regularly overhauled to strip out viruses, etc while the Macs run problem free. The Mac's run faster and boot up much quicker. There used to be a problem obtaining software that would run on both systems but this seems to have been ironed out in recent years.
The only downside to Mac's is the price, but by and large I think they are a far better, faster and more reliable machine than a windows based equivilent
