Although I enjoy the winter Olympics, I found the primetime broadcast hard to watch due to the amount and length of the commercials. It seemed like they would show 1 athlete and then break to 15 minutes worth of commericals - now I know why everyone owns a DVR.
It's hard to be "uninformed" these days. I tried very hard to not find out the results of Vonn's run yesterday, but it didn't happen. It made watching it on tv kind of disappointing....
I watch his program,at least once a week, and I find him to be a Liar who can never back up what he says with any FACTS.He is always coming up with Conspiracy Theories which make no sense and he calls people names and denigrates them in a way which goes well beyond what is "civil".He should be removed from his programs because he goes way,way beyond what should be allowed as "Free Speech".
I like Glenn Beck mostly because he is, first and foremost, an American who loves this country. I don't knowo why you call him a liar, since he gives proof of everything he discusses. One thing is for real: He has no interest other than to give his opinion, which as of today, is his right. If you don't like him, or Fox, then, don't tune in. As for me, I would much rather watch him when I know he is telling the facts as they are than watch the Nancy Pelosi b - - - t ch talking about the tea party goers as "nazis". Don't judge others unless you are ready to disprove his accusations. Until that time, turn the tv off.
I'm more than a little behind on House episodes, and I just watched the episode from Season 5 where Kutner (from Harold & Kumar movies) committed suicide. Seriously?? There was no prelude to that AT ALL. I honestly sat there with my mouth open for the rest of the episode. What TV show shocker left you "hanging"?
Nothing on televison shocks me at all. You have Stewie on Family Guy (a baby in diapers) being gay, there are more sexual situations (Gossip Girl) on regular tv and cable than ever before. Violence is a close second. With 19 million NEW cases of std's in 2008 and children raping and beating (and in some cases, killing) each other, how can we be too shocked?
Lou Dobbs has been with CNN for over 20 years. In 1999 he left for a brief period because of disagreements with the then General Manager. After the Manager left, Lou returned to his usual spot on primetime. Suddently, yesterday he announced he is quitting his job with CNN to seek "other opportunities". Of late, he has been quite disenchanted with the way things are going in the United States as well as with Obama's administration. In your opinion, did he quit because he was not allowed to express his personal opinions about the administration or, did he really have intentions of seeking something new to do? Also, will he be joining Fox News (just a hunch)?
I believe that he was more or less forced to quit. It was quite clear that he wasn't approving of his newscasts being written out for him. If I understand it correctly, even his farwell speech was written for him, with the devil breathing down the back of his neck, making sure that he read it word for word. I hope Fox picks him up. He was the only reason I tuned into CNN on occassion.
I think it's a mistake. I like Jay, but not everyday. This move has caused me to stop watching other NBC shows because they are on opposite something else I like just enough more to choose it over NBC. Like Law & Order SVU. Its on at the same time as Criminal Minds which I like more. If SVU was on at 10 I would watch it instead of CSI New York. I hope they lose enough viewers to at least cut Jay to two nights a week and put the drama back on at 10.
Five nights is too much. There are other shows at 10 on regular and cable channels that I prefer. So glad I have a DVR since I record a lot of shows, never record Leno though. Some I watch at 10, some at other times, really the only late night show I watch, and only for the monologue is Craig Ferguson. He has all the others beat as far as I am concerned.
