I am planning to transfer to an online college and I have joined some scholarship web sites recently. I probably need to wait for my mother to file my taxes so that I can apply for FAFSA/student aid and then talk to the admissions representative of the school I want to attend.

I am tossing around the idea of going to college, but I'm 50 and very scared that I will end up going for 2 or 3 years, rack up a big debt and still not be able to get a job, or at least get a job that I can afford to pay my school debt with. What do you all think? Please advise.

Just wondering what your feelings are about your education. I grew up in a broken home and fairly poor, and somehow I knew that getting a college education and a good job was my ticket out of that life. I worked hard and went to college, and am now (in my late 30's, with a house, a spouse, a toddler, and a baby on the way) getting a Master's degree. I'm surprised to hear that graduation rates aren't very high these days. What are your feelings about your education?
