The beginning of May was very special for us as our footballer Fabrice Muamba was well enough to visit the Reebok and walk on to the pitch to a standing ovation. Early May was also noted for a visit from a so called knowledgeable person to conduct a so called energy audit on our home, they were looking at things like solar panels, cavity wall and loft insulation and draught proofing as well as advising about low energy bulbs and other ways we could potentially save money on our energy bills. A lot of their advice I already new or was aware of and if I am honest his condescending manner did not go down very well with me. Advising us to spend higher costs on lower energy white goods and objecting to my choice of new kettle would be fine except we live on basic benefits and do not have spare money for more expensive items. I am currently having an annoying ongoing problem over the grounds maintenance staff not bothering to close the garden gate and knocking over our solar garden lights and not replacing them before they leave. Missing my Son who after a busy second year at university, has gone abroad for a well earned weeks holiday. 1 day ago
The last visit was a week later so we could see a computer drawing of the new kitchen and agree to the plans. Just wish they would actually set a date and get on with the work. At the end of March my Son’s cure for my stress was to buy me two male Chinese hamsters that are very cute and are named Sam after the Wigan Warriors Rugby League player and Ding after the Chinese snooker player.
The beginning of April opened with the worrying week when my Son got diagnosed with a bad dose of tonsillitis, yet again and for over a week he was very unwell. My Easter was spent nursing my Son back to full health whilst fighting a cold that I some how caught. I was cheered up in the middle of April with the start of the world snooker at the Crucible in Sheffield and my Son made subtle comments about constantly knowing what I was watching every day. My Son surprised me in mid April by buying me a larger television for my study/bedroom and the following day he replaced my computer monitor with a more modern one so my so called technology corner looks really modern now. Sadly the end of April was not too good as my MS kicked in for a few long painful days and the only light at the end of a long tunnel was that we decided to upgrade both our sky box’s and I am now able to record what ever I want.
