Does your cat have several or a few meow sounds to tell you that they want something or just showing attitude?

My Cat Princess has several meow sounds that she uses to communicate with me, for instance when she comes down stairs from her nap she announces her self clearly saying here I am. If she wants something very intently, she uses a very high pitch tone. And when she is upset with me, she has a meow that starts then cuts off halfway then finishes then I know she is telling me off. Sometimes she sounds like a bird. One of the funniest, she says brow wow wow that's when she wants to be noticed.

My husband and I have had Siamese cats since we got married (42+ years ago). All our "children" are gone now, but you haven't heard a repertoire until you've heard a Siamese, male OR female! Funny (and entertaining) aren't they?

I think most cats have different meow tones to convey different emotions, including mine!

i dont have a cat anymore but when i did, she used to push her waste on the floor to say she wanted her litter box cleaned,
and if she didnt like the food i gave her she would attempt to bury it.
when she wanted attention she would meow and hold her left paw out to you

My cat Stosh has a few meows but "meow" isn't one of them he can say "ham" when he wants a slice of ham, when he's agravated me me he says ow wow loudly and gives a deep sigh and will follow me around doing this. If I call him by his name he comes and sit in front of me and says mow like yes I'm here what do u want. When he's hungry he'll sit in th bathroom (thats where I feed him in the tub so the dogs don't eat his food if he doesn't finish it all and screams like hes locked in a room. Best cat ever all you have to do is pay close attention to your cat and you KNOW exactly whats one his mind.

My cat, name Kitty is not much of a talker. But she says mama when she hears my car pull into the parking space. My kids hear her and cannot believe that she actually talks. Now my seven year old asks me " what is she saying?" everytime she meows because he believes that she is actually talking to me.

Whenever I walk in the house after not being home, my cat Tigger will meow until I come over to him and give him attention. Tigger and my other cat, Ash will both meow when they want me to give them food or water. And Tigger will meow so loud when Ash is trying to play with him and he doesn't wanna play cause he's quite a bit older than Ash and just wants to be left alone.

Yes, absolutely. My one cat, Zeke, is very vocalhe tells me when he's hungry & upset along with knowing when I need attention. My other kitty is Ziggs & he is very mellow & climbs up on my lap when he knows I'm upset or what ever & uts his paw on my leg to let me know he needs something. So I ask him what he wants & he wants to follow him to show me.

when I get up in the morning one of my cats stand in the food dish. He looks at me and meows, then I know it is time for breakfast. he wont get out of the dish until I start putting food in it. Goofer is also my talker. I can always tell what he wants by the tone of his meow.

I am not a cat owner. I would love to have a cat but I feel an animal would be just as expensive as a child.
