If gas prices hit $13 a galloon would you still be able to afford to drive? That how much people who live in England can expect to pay by the end of this year.

I know American's think gas prices are high, but in England we are currently paying about $8-9 a galloon. Not to mention this has also had a big impact on our food prices. If prices do hit $13 a gallon I won't be able to afford to drive anymore.

Well hopefully it won't because I'm hoping that people will take more initiative for other uses of fuel such as solar powering, corn oil, and ethanol. Also there's another type of fuel that scientists are researching that isn't even found on this earth (at least not naturally). It's found on the moon and the fuel is called He3 (helium with that little three). There's virtually a limitless amount found and scientists are predicting that we'll find an efficient way to use it within the next five to fifteen years. There's enough to last us like 100,000 years.

Gas is awfully expensive, but I live in a rural area and unless I want to move to town, will have to shell out whatever price they put on the gasoline.

Oh no, that is a terrible price to pay, and we are complaining about our increases. I would be the same as you at those high prices, I would not be able to afford to drive either. I hope something happens soon, and puts the lid on these rising prices.

We hardly ever go out nowadays, as I cannot walk far, and the petrol is so expensive. I have been known to cycle to the bus stop, lock my bike and bus from there on.......

You just find a way.. I remember when petrol went over £1 a gallon and there was an outcry. The we changed to litres to confuse things, then it went to more than £1 a litre, now it's around £1-40 a litre

I know, luckily I commute to work via the train, always thought it was expensive as now just over forty quid a week, but if I drove allowing for parking, etc would cost me at least sixty quid nowadays. My fella uses our car to work, but only has to drive 3 miles so not too bad, he could use public transport, but has lots of tools and safer to bring the more expensive ones home with him as stuff has gone missing from work and they never replace them

I don't think it will be that much before many of use will have to stop driving, we rarely go out now and living rural we have to rely on our car, we have cut down on soo much including going out, I only shop once every week to 10 days now and do all our jobs in one trip on that one day. But we have to eat and need fresh veg and fruit etc. I have the dentist next week so that is the day I will do my shopping and anything else we need to do, this week it's food shopping and collecting the mower etc because we can't afford to go out to shop and then to the dentist another day. We aren't able visit friends and they don't visit us very often as the fusl is so expensive.

I heard on the news that there is less congestion on the roads due to the increase in petrol prices. Perhaps it is a deliberate ploy to keep down the costs of building new motorways as well as to rob us blind.
