Global warming is one thing but look at what might happen if we continue to clear our forests! We have to stop cutting down trees! This is getting serious! ;o)
This is why we replant our forest as we cut it down! I know that some places are clearing forest to have farm ground and that can be controlled. Where we have replanted trees to replace the ones we used, in 25 years we can do it again. That's substainable lumber! There's some trees that grow faster than that! I don't worry about global warming! Instead I worry about the wild animals that live in these forest' Their the ones in danger of extension!
I don't believe in global warming but do think trees are extremely important. I just watched my neighbor take down a tree this weekend. It's one on the south side of the house so they'll have a lot of heat coming in the house now. Run the iar conditioner more that's all?
One of the houses that we looked at when looking to buy had trees everywhere. In the backyard, there were roots all over the lawn, it looked like something from an evil fairytale. They were so close to the house (very old too) that I was worried the trees were going to pull it out of the ground and lay claim to the plot of land. Anyway, after researching on that town's website I learned that they have strict rules about tree cutting. The homeowner needs to have permission to cut any trees larger than a certain size and there's a hefty fee too. That town has lots of trees everywhere, and it certainly sets it apart from other towns. We ended up buying elsewhere anyway, due to other factors. Where we live now, there are private wetlands nearby. We always see deer wandering around, and it's nice. Although it still makes me sad to think most of their land was already cleared to build houses.
That would be terrible if the dogs had to stand in line like we do sometimes. LOL That is cute. But I agree there are too many trees being cut down and not replaced. We have an ordinance if we have to cut a tree down (with the permission of the arborist) we have to replace it with a good tree at least 6 (maybe 8 feet) tall and 2 inches in diameter.
Yes, and in addition to that, we need to plant new trees. If the government could sponsor a program so the public such as Schools, churches, seniors groups, and others can get involved , that would be great.
