Would you ever consider crossing a picket line?

I probably would not. I have never been in that situation.

I would certainly consider it, but it would depend on the issue.

I doubt that I would - but never say never. My mom was on strike when I was younger and several of her colleagues crossed the picket line. Most people were understanding because they were single mothers and just could not do without the money. Years later there are still a few people that remember and cannot forgive, but mostly it has been forgotten. It is easy to look down on people who cross picket lines, but some people have very few options. If I could not find anything else than yes I would cross a picket line. I would feel very guilty, but at the end of the day I have an obligation to my family to put food on the table and a roof over our heads.

Yes I have. I have also been employed where I was forced to belong to a Unioin which from what I have seen are far more likely to be crooked and take advantage or rip off their members that any employer I have ever worked for.

I am sorry to say that 35 years ago when I was much younger and far more naive I did once cross a picket line and accepted temporay work as a delivery driver for 3 days. That is something, though, I don't think I would ever consideer doing again. I was yelled at then,. Today, you'd probably get shot for doing that! I knew nothing about Unions then. Since then, I have worked in several Unions in the building trades, and would be supportive of my Union. I dp feel, however, that a person needs to eat and thus work, and everyone is entitled to their free choice in matters as long as it doesn't transgress the law. I really and sincerely doubt that if a few persons do cross a strike line, that that is hardly likely to upset the entire balance of nature within that company and cause it to come toppling down!

My dad worked for a place called ball band ,in south bend Ind. they had a powerful union .So powerful the union began to have more power then the company .Long story short the union put the company in bankruptcy and the company was sold .The company that bought . Ball band did not want most all of the employees that worked there .The company disbanded as ball band and become unyroyal.Ball band made most of the auto mats that the top auto industry made. They made the fist tenis shoe also.My dad did not get a full pention, because they use it and other employees pentions to keep the doors open in the last few years of the company. We The people must individualy see here and obay our conscience,to get our needs met.The greed of man says he never has enuf !

Back when I was just out of school I did, and now I regret it. I was single and had no one to fall back on. I had to eat and pay my rent so I crossed the picket line. In these times it would be hard if I was in that situation again, but I would try to resist.
