What is the right religion?...If you knew someone in need of spiritual strength, what advice would you offer them?

I would consider my being very deeply rooted with religion. Unfortunately, I know a lot of people who couldn't say the same. Often times I will respond with examples of my past, but I have never been able to allow myself to directly tell them that they should check out a specific religion.

Well, religion and spirituality really are total opposites. Religion is what the false religious leaders do when they pray in puplic and do things that look as if they are so holy in puplic but then do not follow the Bible themselves nor do it in love. They do things that are sinful in private and have no relationship with Jesus in private. God said he hated how the pharicees and sadducces acted. Many time the two are grouped together just out of not understanding, a Christian shouldn't be religious. It isn't my religion but my faith. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

i would say shop around and find what fits you best. i am not going to push my beliefs on to someone else. but you need to have some kind of spiritual guidance.

I'm a very strong Catholic & believe fully in all it's tenets, however if someone told me they didn't believe but wanted faith in something, I'd ask them if they believe in God & prayer. If they do, I'd tell them just to ask God for help in their faith, lead them them to whatever church He wants that person to be a member of, and what God wants that person to believe. Ask and You shall receive. Even if they say they don't believe in God, I'd tell them, just ask for help - maybe to the skies. Their prayers will be heard eventually, even if they don't believe it. All prayers are answered: either Yes, No, or Maybe but not right now,

I think the right religion is the one you choose. Freedom of choice is freedom of religion as well. I happen to be Unitarian Universal because I don't think any one religion is better than another. I think if you live by the Golden Rule and do the best you can to treat others (and other living beings) well, you will be rewarded in the end. I don't buy the fact that if you don't choose one religion over another you will be doomed to a hell-like existence. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

That is a very personal question. All I can say is-to each his own!
Suggestion-set your OT at 10 words-you'll get more responses . The
default is 20!

Religion is a personal matter and any discussion of it should be with consenting adults and mature minors. Too many vapid comments seek the bottom of the barrel and lead to unnecessary ill feelings. It is just like politics and economics. We all have opinions and it should be understood that they are only opinions; however, many are taken personally and that hurts.

There is no "right" religion. Everyone's spiritual needs and their paths are different; God(s) are a thought process. They exist, but I don't think they care what we call them, or how we observe them. Who knows if they even care. But if someone needed spiritual advice, I'd tell them to search deep inside themselves- what are their needs? They should listen to religious views, and see which they agree with. I don't want to be annoying and push anyone towards any religion like SOME people do... Anyways, a spiritual path is something that's very individual, not universal.

Telling someone what religion they should follow is not the right thing to do, but giving them options can be. I would recommend Unitarian Universalism; it accepts everyone. This may give individuals the backgrounds they need, the ability to question people of other faiths, and hopefully they might mind something that works for them. But what may work for one person may not for another. You might also discover that some are at peace without following a religion.

I would definitely say to look into Islam. As a Muslim, I have found answers to questions and truely been shaken to my core after re-researching Islam. I wasn't a practising person before but after seeking guidance from the one and only Creator of the worlds, i have found my peace. I would encourage ppl to read the Quran, not to change their faith but only as a way to expand their knowledge about a religion increasing exponentially with almost 1.5 billion followers.
