Since putting our old house on the market I am speechless at some of the feedback. I know people will just say anything if pushed by the agents, but some of the answers are bizarre. The house is facing south so gets the sun on the back garden most of the afternoon, but that isn't enough. The lounge is the wrong shape......er it's rectangular, what's wrong with that? It needs a new kitchen so knock £20,000 off please, er no! It's in the wrong area.......... so why look at the place??? It is on at a really cheap price and nothing in the area even comes close, but they seem to want a palace for less than 100k. I think the days of buying somewhere then doing it up to your own tastes are well and truly over, don't you?
Some people just go on houseviewing to be nosey and have no intention of buying. As a result they have to come up with something that you can't argue with as so bizarre to say to the estate agent.
Hi, My guess is they are hoping you will drop the price, if that is the case it would be better if they said they really liked the house but it was more than they could afford (more honest anyway).
When we were selling our first house some of the moans were ridiculous like there are not enough plug sockets in the front room, the stairs are too steep, too many windows in the large bedroom taking up all of the wall space! Good luck with the sale it really is a most stressful experience.
There is not much left that needs doing up as people were snapping these up as prices went up. So stick to your guns and wait for someone reasonable to come along.
Some people just come for a nosey around, they have no interest in buying, also with the house market slowed down, people just want to pick up a bargain by getting the price as low as they can.
