The way I look at this is that if the universe is infinite that means that it goes on for ever. Now I cannot see that in such an infinite universe the only creatures that managed to exist would be those that we know about. It also seems to me that it is rather conceited of us even to think that way. There must also be planets similar to earth in construction, heat, light and atmosphere. On that basis it seems to me that it would be more strange if the only creatures in the universe were those on this planet rather than peculiar that there were other creatures of which, as yet, we know nothing.
