Do you agree that the correct charges were made against Mark Zimmerman? That is second degree murder?

Although I think he should go to prison for the rest of his life I think the charge of second degree murder is appropriate. I just hope they don't let him plea bargain down to manslaughter.

The definition of a first degree murder is when a murder is a killing which is deliberate and preplanned. If the murderer was lying it wait for, or planned ahead in time to murder a particular person. A second degree murder is defined as a murder that is committed intentionally but not premeditated or preplanned. Given these definitions, I think the correct charges have been laid on Mr Zimmerman. Although there is no doubt that Mr Zimmerman deliberately murdered the teenager and it was not an accident, he did not plan ahead in time to murder 'Trayvon Martin'.

News polls 76% say he will not get a fair trial, with all the media around. Others say there are no witnesses , he,s behind bars now so we,ll see what happens next.
