How long do you keep holiday candy before you throw it out?

I have 2 kids, so we always have a lot of candy from holidays. I keep it until the next holiday, then we toss the old stuff and replace it with the most current holiday candy. The stretch between easter and halloween is too long though, we usually toss it around the 4th of july.

Don't have a period to throw it out. I eat them right away since we don't keep a lot of candy.

I don't have that problem. We don't buy enough candy that we have that concern.

Depending on the candy we'll keep it until it's eaten by someone. Most candy is good for a couple years.

if you freeze it you would be able to keep it longer.

I think it depends on the candy. Things like candy canes will keep almost forever, while chocolates, marshmallow types should be eaten as soon as you can. That type of candy never lasts around here, so it's a moot point.

softer candy doesn't last too long and gets thrown out, while hard candy seems to hang around for a lot longer time. Up to 2 years. Chocolate is eternal.

I have 3 children, provided there are several sweet but do not let them eat in exeso as it can get sick, thank God they are very healthy, and know how to eat sweets responsibly.
