I thought this was such an amazing story. I am so glad that the bus driver was able to stop this driver from getting away with hitting this bike rider. I realize that there is only so much room on the road, but hitting someone and trying to run off is never humane. It is amazing that the bus driver was able to see what was going on, especially since the bus was ahead of the accident. The bus and another car blocked the driver from running off. The bike was quite mangled, the rider was hurt, but he survived and the bad person was brought to justice. Have you ever wanted to use your car or in same way stop a bad guy or girl from getting away with something?
Second attempt at getting this post to 'stick'. I am appalled at hit and run drivers. it has happened to me and so I can only applaud the actions of the bus driver. Let's face it, so many people just don't want to get involved these days. Quick thinking on his behalf and he deserves a medal. I am at a loss as to the main reason why there are so many hit and runs and why the penalties are not increased or some sort of extra education or deterrent out there to at least lower the amount of the cowardly acts of utter disgrace. Not stopping to help someone is against the law here but heck, hitting something or someone and you know it and not stopping would have to be right up there with the worst of offences. x x xMyo x x
That was fantastic and very quick thinking, what amazed me was the fact that the cops arrived so quickly if that were to happen here (Ireland ) you would be waiting a hell of a long time for the Gardai to turn up
