The incident took place around 2:45 a.m. A woman was driving with her infant daughter when she saw something dart into the road ahead of her. She rolled over the obstruction and got caught. A gator's snout could be seen under the passenger side of the car. It was completely trapped beneath the car. The car had to be lifted off him. Then a trapper took over. He had already wrapped the gator's snout closed and roped its neck before the car was lifted. It was 10 foot 8 inches and weighed 400 pounds.
