According to a poll conducted by a well-known research company, more American employees are distrustful of their organization’s management compared to a year earlier. I think distrust towards organizations’ management is not only confined to America but a worldwide trend. The research company mentioned that poor communication, lack of perceived caring, inconsistent behavior and perceptions of favoritism being the main factors in the erosion of trust. What do you think of this disturbing finding? Do you agree trust towards organizations’ management has declined? Can this trust be rebuilt?
I agree. Management are getting more untrustworthy. I have had experience of this myself in the organisation I work for. Sometimes I wonder how companies pick managers. It is certainly not for their skills in the field. I believe to be in management you need extensive training. Another thing that people should keep in mind is just because you have worked in a certain company for x length of time does not mean you are management material. If there are any managers out there I apologise if you are good at your job but you would be one of a few and I would love for you to come to my company and show them how to do it.
