I think what the water authorities could have handled this a lot sooner and build more dams around the country.

There must be a real problem where you are. We are OK here but there are some places out west that haven't had rain in over a year.

It's ridiculous that this country should ever have water shortages. Perhaps if the water companies had bothered to invest rather than lining their pockets we wouldn't be in this situation.

We are in the Anglia water region and there certainly is not much water here.People take water too much for granted.A lot of people around us use pressure washers to clean their cars and driveways and they use a lot of water. If meters were made law then a lot would be saved.

Maybe we should all buy bottled water and hoard it, keep our wash water to pour into a rain barrel and water the plants with and put another brick in the toilet to conserve. We've all gone nuts about water, some overconserving some not atall, yet I don't have a front lawn, put in drought resistant plants, etc., and my water bill still keeps rising!

Lol! Fee free to nip up to Scotland and help yourselves to some water from my garden which has been flooded for the past 3 days as the river near me burst its banks!!
Yes I know what you mean about greece and Italy and places. Britain seems to me to be an extremely disorganized nation. We're never prepared for hefty snow...roads and schools are closed. We're never prepared for extreme heatwaves..again schools are closed. And same for droughts although I hope the wee kids in England are still getting to go to school! Other countries suffer extreme temperatures and weather conditions but they all seem to be ready and prepared.
Is this because of a lack of finance..or a lack of organisation and common sense??
