Do you have any allergies or intolerances?

Having recently found out that there is various allergies and intollerances in the family i am finding it quite overwhelming trying to figure out the changes i need to make in our diets, there is so much i diddnt know about ingredients in everyday foods, wheat, gluten, lactose, soya, nuts, and sulphates being the main ones i need to change.

I wondered if any fellow toluna members had any allergies or intollerances and how they cope with first finding out and changing their diets, has changing your diets improved your lives? does anyone have any helpfull tips or advice?

It would be massively appriciated... Thank You :-)

I do have intolerance and allergies the worst is being allergic to MSG it causes my throat to close over. The thing is you have to read every label carefully no matter what your intolerance is and ask at deli's or cafes what the ingredients are it will save you in the long run.

I have lactose intolerance. So it is easy just don't eat anything, that has milk on it. BUT it's not always easy to know is there milk or isn't. So it is very important to read product data seeds very carefully. When you find out what products are good, it's much easier. That just takes some time.

I can't help you in this, as I have no allergies or in-tolerances. There are members of my family with them however, and researching the particular allergy or in-tolerance is a good place to start to find out information. Then you just take steps to avoid those triggers. It can be a challenge, but it's worth it to not have reactions!

I have so many food allergies and intpllerances that it makes it impossible for me to eat out. It's hard to get people to understand that you're not being rude when you say I'll come over after dinner, or I'll bring my own food. I have a very limited diet, that most of the time works for me. I'd say the best thing is to be open and honest with your friends and family about what you can or can not eat. Some people will go out of their way to help you out, some won't. Be vigilant and always have something along with you that you can eat. Best of luck!!!
