supermarket loyalty points

with the prices rising in supermarkets, do you use loyalty cards such as tescos points or sainsburys necter points, or do you use coupons to save you some money of the price of your shopping? which store do you think offers the best on prices, loyalty points, offers?

When i was studying in UK, i used the Nectar Card and Boots card. I found both of them really helpful. Back in Greece now, i use the loyalth card in the supermarket. it is a great help especially this period.

I use both Tesco Clubcard and also Nectar card. I do all my supermarket shopping in Tesco and do find that the points add up and then treat my self to a magazine subscription annually, while I also use a card in my daughters name so she can collect points to convert to Air miles as she flies a great deal. As I can only collect Nectar points in my local Homebase or when shopping on line I do find it takes me some time to get to £10 in points which is the minimum spend, but worth collecting them as every little helps.

i do use loyalty cards, spend soo much in my local co op and its hardly cheap there, and twice a year i get vouchers sent for like 5opounds,which is a great help, also do iceland as now n then you get a voucher for a free £5 dessert, so its def worth it, not every1 collects and uses cards though

I use the Co-Op primarily for shopping, so use the Linclnshire Co-Op Dividend rather than loyalty points. You get 1p back in the pound for most goods, and 5p back for local produce and fair trade. As I haven't got cards for any of the other supermarkets I rarely use them, particularly as any saving I made would probably be wiped out by the bus fares.

Don't do loyalty points but my better half does. can't be bothered expecting great thi ngs only to find that after 6 months meticulously collecting them you have The princely sum of 50p.

There is very likely going to be a price war between the stores and it will pay to monitor the situation as it could all develop and change very quickly. Trying to keep one step ahead of the opposition could mean quick price changes....... Tend to be a nectar card holder myself, though do have a Tesco and John Lewis card as well. They save me a few pennies.
